Preliminary Peer evalution 1

Peer Evaluation of College Magazine Front cover
Look closely at the text you’ve been given. Use the following questions to guide your own examination of the text’s strengths and the areas in need of development. Offer constructive points wherever possible.

  • Does the front cover engage the reader’s interest immediately – if ‘yes’, why do you think this is. If ‘no’, write 3 suggestions to improve this quality?
    (i) Yes, the colour scheme is bright and catching
(ii) The picture is fun and engaging
(iii) The stars are relevent and interesting and connect with the title
  • What do the sell lines reveal about the potential reader?
    That it is for the older student as there is more formal language

  • Who do you think this magazine is targeting and how can you tell?
That it is for sixth form as there are lot of sell lines including sixth form

  • What does the representation in the image and/or in the language tell us about the potential reader?That they are older and in their own clothes studying  so they must be sixth form.

  • Offer one comment about the use of image. It can be either positive (although remember that your aim is to help the publisher improve) or constructive.
The picture is fun and happy and there is lots fo colours in it, however there is no eye contact so there could be less engagement for the readers
  • Offer one comment about the use of language. It can be either positive (although remember that your aim is to help the publisher improve) or constructive.
